About Us

​We fell in love with Sonoma while vacationing here in 2008. It reminded us of one of our other favorite spots, Italy. At the time we were living in Boulder, juggling hectic careers and three kids. I was in environmental consulting and Amy was running her own event planning business, both of which required crazy hours and lots of travel, away from our family. Starting a business together was always in the back of our minds, and we were feeling very inspired while exploring Sonoma. We've always loved Limoncello and thought it would be cool to bring our favorite 'sunshine in a bottle' to Wine Country. Even after we returned home, we couldn't shake the idea of producing a California version of Limoncello, so we decided to follow our dream and move the family to Sonoma. Everyone thought we were nuts. It's been a long haul, but we have managed to create an (award-winning) Limoncello, appropriately named Limoncello di Sonoma. The whole community is involved and our peeling parties have turned into a huge gathering of adults and kids helping us peel 3,500 lemons in one afternoon. Since the launch of our Limoncello, our company has grown to include over 30 different products! Right now we're just trying to keep up with the demand and spread the word. It's the California dream everyone talks about and we're living it, right here and right now!

 Our Distiller-in-Chief has always maintained an affinity to the outdoors and the ability to shape any product around natural elements. From his environmentally scientific background to his production of California's first organic Limoncello, Fred has been in perpetual pursuit of producing the highest quality brand on the market, utilizing only the best ingredients Sonoma County has to offer.

Amy Groth, Owner/Sous Chef

The Ohio born, Oregon raised, now mother of 3 and Partner-in-Spirits, has always exuded enthusiasm surrounding her passions; whether it be running her own special events company to being a devotee of all things tiki. After traveling the world and building a Colorado lifestyle with her hubby, Amy was inspired to, yet again, value her fervor of exploration in favor of a new venture: LimonCello!
